Poem 2
Endless Knight
The horses run
In the morning sun.
Herald the horsemen
“The king is fallen!
His kingdom´s no more!”
From shore to shore
The maidens are dancing
The knights are resting
The peace is restored.
On a tree sings the lark
“Hark! Hark!”
And so I run
In the morning sun
Barefoot and sky-clad.
Sleepless Knight, egad!
Where hast thou been?
“Why the chagrin
My sweet fair Lady?
I´ve been at thy bide
Right by thy side!”
Sleepless Knight
The king´s now mewed
By the hordes pursued!
I beg thee, succour the king!
“It´s folly, my Lady!
He´ll stab other damsels
As is in the annals
Of his own wretched kingdom!”
Sleepless Knight
I´ve asked thee to fight
Now I beg thee to heal…
“How, my fairest Lady?”
My Knight, bring him... to feel…
“It`s done, my Liege.
Due to his blight
He´ll be henceforth called…
The Endless Knight."
